On a recent beach trip, I was in the house with 6 couples. It was five days of relaxation and fun. It was a much-needed trip as my husband and I had been working long hard hours. We had beautiful weather and great company.
During that trip, I got up early one morning and went to the rooftop deck on the house. I was able to watch the sunrise over the horizon and take in God’s beautiful morning, alongside my brother. The temperature was a bit cool and felt refreshing on my skin. The sun slowly rose to bring on another day of love and laughter and beautiful sights.
As we sat there, we realized we do not take enough time during our daily lives to stop, go to the ‘rooftop’ and reflect on life. We need to slow down and appreciate the beauty, blessings, nature, and silence. We all are so connected to noise via our TV, radio, phone, and other people that we don’t give our brains a chance to reflect, ponder and grow.
If you are looking for an answer to something, or need guidance on a decision, or just need to settle your anxious spirit, go to the ‘rooftop’ for silence and reflection.
